Anna Karenina Haikus, Part 3, ch 11-15

Laurel Osterkamp · February 24, 2023

I’m so behind! I have a good reason though, and it’s because I’ve been working hard to polish my next novel, set to be released December 2023 (more on that later.)

Anyway, here’s a few new haikus, picking up where we left off. Not a huge amount happens, but Levin’s feelings when sees Kitty in the carriage makes me like more.

  1. Levin turns to the peasants for help with farming and love

Turned to an old man

for the truth about the hay

Instead, saw young love

  1. Levin sees Kitty ride by in her carriage

Our eyes met. She knew.

Her gaze captures the whole world.

The meaning of life.

  1. Alexey tries to decide how to deal with Anna

Duel Vronsky? Nope!

Divorce means public scandal

Anna should suffer

  1. Alexey sends Anna a letter

No divorce, Anna.

Fall in line. You’ve got no choice.

P.S. Here’s some cash.

  1. Anna has doubts

I hate Alexey

But I love our son so much

What if I lose him?
